Protecting the Consumer's Future

Our Mission

The Golden Gate Association of Health Underwriters is an organization of insurance professionals committed to promoting ethical interests of the industry by acting as a resource for both employers and consumers, and by providing continuing education, legislative advocacy and consumer education.

About Our Chapter

The Golden Gate Association of Health Underwriters (GGAHU) is the Bay Area’s professional association for health insurance brokers and agents. Our more than 200 members work with thousands of businesses and individuals to provide them with guidance in making the most informed and best choices for health insurance and the full range of employee benefits. Our membership includes independent and captive brokers and agents, general agencies and carrier representatives doing business in San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin and San Mateo counties.

GGAHU is a chapter of the California Association of Health Underwriters (CAHU) and the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU).

Presidents Message

Cathy Little
GGAHU President

I am honored to be selected to serve as the 2017-18 President of Golden Gate Association of Health Underwriters (GGAHU).

When I joined the association seven years ago, I had no idea how much my involvement would contribute to my personal and professional growth.  I have built friendships, gained new business relationships and received encouragement, mentoring and support from colleagues and fellow board members as a result of my membership.  I'm proud of the values our Association stands for and the work we do for our clients and consumers.

This year we are facing uncertainty with federal legislation and changes to the existing Affordable Care Act and the continuing threat of Single Payer in Sacramento. Your membership and involvement is more important now than ever before.  Members have access to resources and expertise through the Association to educate themselves and help them expertly communicate on these complex and critical issues with their clients, colleagues, and elected officials.

GGAHU is committed to preserving the private delivery of Health Insurance and working towards affordable health care options for all.  We continue to adapt and advocate for the health care needs of the public we serve with a working knowledge of how financing and delivery of care work together.  We are committed to providing our members with the highest level of professional development, legislative advocacy and training, and networking opportunities while upholding the highest code of ethics in our field.

If you are already a member, I would like to personally say "Thank You." If you have not yet joined us I'd like to invite you to check us out!  We are an award-winning Chapter with many outstanding and influential leaders.

I look forward to a productive, successful year working with you all.

Best wishes,

Cathy Little
